The $1 billion I-405 Sepulveda Pass Improvements Project is adding a 10-mile northbound HOV (high-occupancy vehicle) lane; improving supporting infrastructure such as ramps, bridges and sound walls; and widening connecting lanes to the I-10 and US-101 freeways. The result will be:

  • Reduced commuter time
  • Rideshare incentives
  • Reduced air pollution
  • Improved state and regional transportation network links

V&A, Inc.’s professional sub-consulting roadway design and traffic engineering services are mitigating construction impacts to all local city and county streets. V&A, Inc.’s traffic analyses enabled the project team to optimize construction staging so as to limit effects on vehicular traffic, particularly with the Mulholland Bridge Demolition over I-405.

The massive project was divided into 15-plus packages of 30%, 60%, 85%, 100%, and AFC.  V&A, Inc. is coordinating closely with Caltrans, LABOE, LADOT, LABSL, LADWP, LABSS, Los Angeles County, and other various agencies through the design review and approval process. V&A, Inc. completed its scope of work within the original budget and ahead of schedule.
